Cantine Sacchetto
The Sacchetto winery is one of the exponents of the modern Veneto wine school, with an important production of IGT wines. The company is established in the small city Trebaseleghe, located at the point where the provinces Treviso, Padua and Venice converge. The company was founded in the twenties of the previous century by Sisto Sacchetto as a commercial business in grapevines and a facility to produce wine. This only changed in the eighties when his son Filiberto changed it into a true wine company with an own production. The winery remained a commercial business, not only buying wines from the Veneto region but also from Friuli. Both his son Filiberto as well as Paolo occupy themselves with the wine selection. They select wines with a deep respect for the land and the traditions. All wines are transported to the winery in Trebaseleghe where they are further "nurtured" , cared for and bottled.
The winery produces a very broad range of wines, based on different grapes from several regions. In Veneto the grapes include the Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, but also very special red wines based on a variety of grapes such as the Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, but also based on the local grape, the Raboso. In Friuli the wines include grapes such as the Pinot noir, Sauvignon, Cabernet and Merlot. Moreover, Sacchetto is a large producer of sparkling wines, from the very lovely Prosecco up to the powerful Spumante.
The winery is focused on a modern method of wine production, while respecting tradition. The cellar houses many modern facilities to produce wines based on fruit and a pure and refreshing characteristic. Above all, the wines emphasise the character of the grapes on which the wines are based, as the value of these characteristics of the grapes is maintained at an optimal level. Next the wines are bottled in beautifully designed bottles, with an appearance which equals their quality.
